While attending Kpop Revolution, I had the chance to briefly speak with Thai BL actor and singer Top Piyawat. For many international fans, especially those in the UK, this might be the first time discovering him and if my short conversation with him is anything to go by, he’s just as friendly and playful as fans might hope.
When he’s not busy filming or performing, Top keeps things simple. His favourite ways to recharge are sleeping, gaming, and playing football activities he describes as his “ultimate way to recharge.” In fact, football is clearly a big part of how he resets after a busy schedule.
Staying grounded is important to him, and working out regularly is something he relies on to keep both his mind and body balanced. Off set, Top says he’s actually the chatterbox of the group.
“I never stop talking! I’m definitely the playful, mischievous one who’s always trying to crack everyone up.”

Despite that outgoing energy, he shared that he used to be extremely shy. Acting has helped him grow beyond that.“I used to be incredibly shy… but acting opened up my world. I realised, ‘Wait, I can actually do this.’”Being able to perform and push past that anxiety has been one of the most meaningful changes in his life.

When it comes to the kind of stories he enjoys watching himself, Top admits he’s a big fan of romantic series, describing them as wholesome, “fluffy,” and full of feel-good moments.
One thing that has surprised him most in his career so far is the support from international fans. He shared that seeing people overseas recognise his work was something he never expected, and it means a lot to know that his projects have reached people around the world.
For UK readers discovering him for the first time, Top had a simple message:
“Maybe give me a chance and get to know me. I’m a pretty funny guy. If you like to laugh, you’re in the right place.”
After meeting him briefly, it’s easy to see that warmth and humour are a big part of who Top Piyawat is and it might only be a matter of time before even more international fans start paying attention to his work.
