G-Dragon in Paris: A Night of Nostalgia, Pride, and Pure Magic
Walking into La Défense Arena was overwhelming its massive size alone set the stage for something unforgettable. I was originally meant to be up in the nosebleeds, but to my surprise, I managed to upgrade to floor seats. From that moment, I knew this show would be something special. The crowd was electric, constantly on their feet, and when the older songs started, the nostalgia hit hard. Hearing Heartbreaker live brought back so many memories, and the montage of G-Dragon’s journey from a young child performer to the superstar he is today which was set against his track 'A Boy' left the whole arena emotional.

For me, the most unforgettable moment came with Untitled, 2014. That song has always held a special place in my heart. I still remember the first time I heard it almost ten years ago I cried without even knowing why. I didn’t speak Korean back then, but the emotion in his voice transcended language. Seeing it performed live, as the closing song, was the perfect ending. It felt full circle.

When the concert ended and I walked out of
La Défense Arena, I was on an emotional high. Usually, I get post-concert depression, but this time it was different. The pride I felt, the happiness of witnessing such an amazing part of history, completely overshadowed that. In that moment, everything felt complete.

This concert reminded me of the magic I felt when I first became a K-pop fan back in 2009. That unexplainable connection to an artist who doesn’t know you personally, yet has helped you through so many different moments in life. I am so proud of him of everything he has overcome and everything he continues to be. G-Dragon truly is the king of K-pop, and this night in Paris was proof that nothing can compare.

And then there was This Love a Maroon 5 cover he first performed so many years ago. For me, it was a huge part of the nostalgia. It’s the performance I used to show people when I was trying to convince them to listen to K-pop, so hearing it again live in Paris felt like stepping back into that moment in time.
Beyond the music, G-Dragon’s stage presence is unmatched. He’s effortlessly funny, always knowing how to make the crowd laugh and smile.
His fashion was another highlight every outfit was incredible, but the red rose jacket stood out as my personal favorite. The addition of the Kwon Twins, his iconic backup dancers, was another special touch that long-time fans deeply appreciated.
I also want to give a shoutout to his live band they didn’t just play the songs as they were, they reimagined them, making each performance feel alive and unique.
